New York Rangers Goalie Henrik Lundqvist has won the 2011-12 Vezina Trophy, the award is given to the NHL’s top goalie.
Lundqvist went 39-18-5 with a 1.97 goals-against average in 2011-12 and won the award for his first time.
Wow, I can’t believe this. Thank you,” Lundqvist told the NY Daily News. “It’s definitely a dream come true to stand up here. It feels amazing to be on the same list as Patrick Roy, Dominik Hasek, Marty Brodeur. It means a lot to me.”
Other finalists for the award were Nashville’s Pekka Rinne and Los Angeles’ Jonathan Quick.
